What is the difference between this articulating borescope and a standard endoscope?
Unlike standard endoscopes that only look forward or require a side-mirror attachment, the KAIWEETS articulating borescope features a two-way 210° steering lens. By rotating the control wheel on the handle, you can physically turn the camera tip left or right to inspect sidewalls, valves, and corners without having to constantly rotate the cable. This provides a complete, blind-spot-free view of engines and pipes.
What is the image resolution? Is it clear?
The device is equipped with a 2.0 Megapixel (2.0MP) high-definition sensor that supports 1920x1080P (1080P) resolution. Combined with the built-in 4x digital zoom, it delivers crisp, sharp images and videos, allowing you to easily identify hairline cracks, carbon buildup, or part numbers.
What is the diameter of the probe? Will it fit in a spark plug hole?
Is the camera waterproof?
Yes. The camera probe and the flexible snake cable are rated IP67 Waterproof. They are resistant to water and oil and can be submerged in water (up to 1 meter deep) for short periods.
Note: The monitor/handle unit is NOT waterproof. Please keep the screen away from water.
What is the best focal length (observation distance)?
To get the sharpest image, the camera has a fixed focal range of 2cm to 15cm (approx. 0.8 to 5.9 inches). If the image looks blurry, try slightly adjusting the distance between the lens and the object.
How long does the battery last?
The device runs on a built-in rechargeable lithium battery.
- KBA01: 2000mAh battery, providing up to 3.5 hours of continuous use.
- KBA02: 3000mAh battery, providing up to 5 hours of continuous use.
It comes with a USB cable for charging via any standard 5V USB charger or computer port.
Can I take photos and record videos?
Yes. You can capture photos (JPG) and record videos (AVI) with the press of a button. A 32GB TF card (Micro SD) is included in the package, which holds thousands of images. You can view the files directly on the monitor or transfer them to a PC using the included data cable.
Does the probe have high-temperature protection?
Yes. The probe is equipped with a high-temperature protection sensor. If the temperature exceeds the safe limit (typically around 70°C - 80°C), the device may sound an alarm or shut down to prevent damage to the camera sensor. We strongly recommend waiting for the engine to cool down below this temperature before inspection.
